Online dating! (Match!) I had just gotten out of a very serious, 4 year relationship (college sweetheart). We had moved in together and were planning on getting married, but after moving in (and after college) it was painfully clear that he was a deadbeat. I moved out on my own, and dated around using match to help me “get back into it”. My now finace messaged me randomly (I had never seen him on the site before), and we’ve been dating for 3 years! Getting married this May!
I had tried other dating sites, and really didn’t like how they operated. I felt the most in-control of my own dating on match, with a lot less creeps as compared the the free sites (although match sure does have its fair share of creepy guys!) Good luck! A current breakup is always hard to deal with, but once you make the decision to move forward and begin dating again, you’ll feel much better!

Met at work. We’ ve since both left that employer – working in same team was awkward, especially in the early days. That was over 4yrs ago! We’ve been married just less than a yr.

Internet chat community of mutual interests. We talked online for about 8 months prior to meeting and pretty much immediately moved in together (we lived two states apart and both worked from home at the time).
We’re planning a vow renewal for our fourth anniversary next February.
Honestly, we’re very happy and get happier with each passing year. We dated about two years prior to getting married.

Panama City, FL on spring break my last year of college. We’ve been together over six years. How we actually met is not a story I can tell my parents or future children 😉

I met my Fiance in my backyard! My roommate and I had moved to a new place where we didn’t know anyone, and lived in a duplex. The girl who lived upstairs was around our age and we decided to have a joint barbecue and Fiance showed up to it! Woohoo! Didn’t have to go too far… :)))

I met my Fiance online. We’re planning our wedding now and we’re insanely happy.
Don’t let your breakup discourage you! There really are some good guys out there 🙂
@jasonkatie2014: I totally agree with you, I really had a good experience with Match. I was only on there for a couple days but I was glad I chose Match 🙂

My SO and I met during high school when we were 16. I was dating his best friend at the time, but we started to spend more time together senior year since we lived close to eachother and decided to carpool together. Then he moved to Texas to live with his mom for his first year of college. When he moved back it was a bit after I broke up with his friend, and he decided to make a move on me. It wasn’t until we were dating for 4 months that he admitted that he loved me since we were 18, but respected my relationship too much to interfer. After that I had to admit that I liked him too back then, but at the time I was too scared to break up with his friend (he was abusive). We’re really happy together, and we’ve only been together for two years and plan to get married In January of 2015 (so far away!).

am I allowed to answer since we’re not married yet? 🙂
I found a lost labrador in a park when I was walking my daschund. I took the dog back to my home and called the tag for hours trying to get ahold of the owner. Finally, the owner answered, and it was this drop dead gorgeous muscular blonde hair blue eyed man that just happened to be single! He had just moved in the neighborhood, and lived 70 yards away from me.
My sweetie ended up texting me over and over how thankful he was that I found her, and it meandered into other topics. We went on a date 1 week later, and we have been inseparable since 🙂

We met online (OkCupid). I was separated, but my divorce was not final (it took over 2 years) and I know that this turned off a lot of people which is understandable. I’d had so many dud dates or people that were just not for me, that I cancelled our first time we were supposed to meet up. In comparison to many other people I ended up meeting, I took a long time to exchange phone numbers (several months). Then we met for coffee (well, it ended up being hot tea for both of us). We were both divorced, and had honestly given up on being married ever again and finding “the one”. When I left my ex-husband, I figured sure, I’d date people again and maybe even have some relationships. However, I never ever seriously thought that I’d have a serious relationship ever again. So we met, started dating, got serious, moved in, got engaged, called off our wedding (that was May 2012), then broke up (June 2012) and I moved out. We didn’t really spend much time separate before we started casually dating each other again. Once we got serious (fall 2012), I moved back in and we got engaged again (early 2013). We eloped at City Hall two months ago and things are perfect!

I met my Fiance online. Not a dating site, just random chat. I had just gotten out of a LTR a few weeks earlier and wasn’t looking to date yet. We just clicked, and began talking constantly. It grew quickly from there. We’ve been together 2 years and just got engaged in April. I’m happier than I’ve ever been with anyone. He didn’t at all fit into what I thought was my “type” and I’m glad I didn’t get hung up on that, because he’s perfect for me.

High school chemistry class. We started dating our senior year of high school but did not get married until 5 years later, when we were college graduates. We’ve been married almost 3 years and are still just thrilled about it 🙂

We met at work, and we’re still co-workers today.
A little over two years.
I’m currently annoyed that his damn socks are stll not in the hamper (guess they aren’t getting washed), but in the grand scheme, yes, I’m happy =)
