I met my Fiance at work but he wasn’t an employee but a contractor. We went for lunch and coffee breaks like I did with my other colleagues. We both knew we had crush on each other *lol* My rule was never date anyone from work. I’m so glad I listened to my friend when she told me, ‘Screw the rule! So what if it doesn’t work out. If you like him, go for it… afterall, he won’t be on the project for long!’ And yes, I’m gonna thank her for that on our wedding day in 3 weeks time.

I met my Fiance on Match.com. I had two close friends who had been on it for a year and often got together to recount their dates. I often felt left out of their conversations so on New Year’s Eve 4 years ago they decided to buy me a 6-month subscription and create my profile. I did nothing with the account until March when I went on a dating spree. It was fun to get up in the morning and get dolled up knowing you had a date to meet after work. 🙂
Sometime at the end of March I got an email from the Fiance. We exchanged several short emails for almost 4 weeks when we finally exchanged phone numbers. On the 1st Sunday in May I received a call and we attended a local street fair together. We never looked back after that.
Okay, maybe I did. I was a little bit bummed that I met him so early…LOL! I still had another 2 months left on my subscription…haha!

Plentyoffish.com! Best decision I ever made! We went on one date and I knew he was special. Not too longer after we were engaged!

I am 29, and I actually went to high school with my Fiance – but we never spoke a word to each other (we never had a class together). Then my friend dragged me, kicking and screaming, to our 10 year reunion last fall, and I gave Fiance my phone number…and here we are.

We met at a bar when I was 30 and he was 28. I was out with a friend and saw him walk by and made a comment to my friend that he was cute. Later in the night we needed to escape another guy and my friend went up to my Fiance and his friend and started talking to them. At first he wouldnt talk to me (he claims he was shy) and at the end of the evening my friend had to write my number down and hand it to him. I thought I’d never hear from him again, but he called 10 minutes later. The rest is history!

We met online through a poetry website we were both members of back in 1998. We met in person in New Jersey two years later, lost touch for several years and reconnected in person in Charlotte in 2007.

@Mrs.L: We met in a bar, too! A local sports bar, not one of the local “meet market” bars. 🙂
I was 32 when we met, and he had recently turned 38. We’ll be 34 and 40 when we get married next month!

I think the men on eharmony are seroius about meeting someone! I wrote exactly what I was looking for in my profile. My mom said, “You write what you want in a relationship and in a man, onely men who want that you want are going to reply.” I met him in 9 days!!!!!!!

I met my husband in law school and like Starbright333 we were from 20 minutes away from each other and didn’t cross paths until then.
All my friends who live in NYC complain about how the dating scene there is so messed up because the city is inundated with models, actresses, etc. and guys seem to think that there is always something better around the corner. Even those in committed relationships have been in them for a long time.
NYC marries much later than the rest of the country I’ve found. It’s not the worst thing in the world to marry later in life, as you’ll likely be much more financially set and hopefully not have to worry about money as much as those who get married straight out of college or a few years later.
When you stop looking you’ll find him! I broke up with my long time college boyfriend as soon as I realized how amazing of a person my husband was (we were friends first)

On the worst social network site out there….myyearbook.
I stood him up the first time because I was nervous about it, I had just moved to town.
We finally met up at a park to feed the squrriels. He rode up on his bike smiling all big and that was it. We never left each others side.
I’m 23 and he’s 28. Neither of us have been married. He had a son and together we just had a son.
