Another OKCupid couple here! I had just moved to Boston and figured I’d try to meet some people before grad school started a month later. I met him within 2 weeks of moving!

We were neighbors in a duplex. I thought she was really cute but looked really young. Turns out she was five years younger than me.. I was 32 and she was 27 but i swear she looked 19!
We had our first conversation, aside from neighborly “waves”, after I woke up one morning to find the entire property covered in parked cars. It literally looked like a parking lot. I was furious and had no idea what was going on, went outside and she came rushing over to explain. It seems she had decided to take advantage of a big parade/event going on (we lived close to downtown) and charge for parking but it got a bit out of hand.. she was apologizing and I was pissed because I was out of coffee and couldn’t get my car out. She gave me half the money from selling parking spots and I chilled out a bit. π It was only for the duration of the parade, at least.
We bonded over our certifiably insane landlady. π

I looked him up in the phonebook!!
I have always been extremely interested in animation, and as a teenager I soaked up every molecule of information I could find on the subject. One day for kicks, I decided to see if there were any studios in town. Cracked open the phonebook (back when AOL was barely even cool yet), and the closest thing I could find that sounded like a studio was his business name at the time. I called him up, and he invited me over to watch him do computer animation in his home office. We were friends for years before we became a couple. Still kind of amusing to say I just looked him up. π

through a website called okcupid.com. I filled out a profile, and sent it out and he matched my profile 97%. We met in person 2 weeks later and that is where we really clicked. I just knew, within 5 minutes, that he was IT. He said it didn’t even take him that long. LOL

Funny story – we met on the dance floor at a burlesque event. I was moaning to my friends about not having a partner so one of them told me to “go over to that guy”, and I did. I wasn’t looking to meet anyone, in fact, I presumed he was gay; you don’t go to burlesque to meet the straight single guys! But lo and behold, here we are π

We lived in the same town as teenagers and had some mutual friends but we didn’t really hang out back then. Eventually we re-met online and started talking on facebook and exchanging regular emails. The first time we ever went out was at a local diner, and later he started visiting me in college. We started officially dating a while later, during the break before my final semester.

We “met” online while playing an online game that we both love. We met in real life for the first time at a fan convention that the game we love puts on each year in Iceland. π

We met through Facebook!
I had just created a group for people with the same last name as me, I have a very popular Portuguese last name “da Silva”. So right after creating my group, I get this message from him asking me how the group was doing, and one message let to another… we met face to face 1 month later, started hanging out, going to movies, dinners and 1 year later we made it official. We actually took our time to get to know each other and that was so great! I can’t wait to marry him π

I am finally opening up to the idea of sharing how my husband and I met so I guess here is as good of a place to start being honest- we met in a psych ward. I was admitted for suicide watch and 2 days later, he came in. The night he came in was the first time I woke up since I had been there. We were the only ones close in age there at the time so we talked quite a bit. I gave him my number when I left in case he needed to keep talking after he left. We talked a few times, went out and the rest is history. We had people telling us that we shouldn’t date, shouldnt’ be together, just because of where we met. I feel that we were brought together in that place because we wouldn’t be expected to live up to any preconceived ideas about each other. We were raised on complete opposite ends of the spectrum and I doubt I would have even looked twice at him if our situation would have been different (he actually dated a girl I went to school with and I never acknowledged him then). I am so thankful for him and for how screwed up I was when I was younger π
