We met at work but we realized after we went to college together too and didn’t know it!!

How we met…its a long funny story….Well I got an internship at Raytheon. When I moved from the Marlboro Plant up to the Andover plant in December of 2004′.. I was on my way to lunch one day with one of the other co-op’s and ran into a kid with whom I took at class with in High School. My friend from high school also a co-op worked with some guys two of which were my FH and his Friend. I was on my computer one day and my FH friend AIM’d and asked me if I would go on a date with my FH. Well I said no because I had only met my FH once and thought it was kinda ‘sketchy’ haha. I went back to college for the semester and once again ended up back at Raytheon in May of 2005. During the semester my FH went to work for another company and other members of the lunch crew left for other plants leaving only about 4 of us for lunch everyday. Two of the guys were on one Friday schedule and myself and my FH were on the other Friday off. So the first Friday came and it was just me and him for lunch so we decided to still have lunch as normal even though it was just the two of us. This continued and we finally went on our first real date by May 2005. Now we are getting Married next year!!

We met online! Really! We met over the holidays in 2007 online, chatted, talked on the phone, etc. and had our first meeting IRL in January of 2008. What we both thought may be "just a date"-brunch & a matinee turned into an all day and into most of the evening date! We both knew right away that there was something major between us-the instant connection that we felt online and on the phone translated to real life. We went away for the weekend for our one year anniversary and he proposed! 🙂

We met at work, I worked at a restaurant in Downtown Disney as a host and he walked in one day.  I thought he was super cute but didnt think anything of it cause he was just gonna eat and leave.  Then I saw my boss walk up to him and hand him a uniform and realized he was gonna work there!  It was a summer job for him because he went to school in Philly, but we dated all summer and stayed together for 2 years long distance until he graduated and moved home.  Weve now been together almost 6 years!

We first met in sixth grade. One day in high school my mom picked up from school and we were heading home when we saw my BF and his friend (ironically my first kiss) getting ready to race their cars down the road (my parents hated when kids did this), so my mother (who had gone to car racing school) said I’ll teach them a lesson and passed them going really really slowly. Long story short, my mom ended up racing my BF to his friends house. I convinced her to drop me off at home before she went to the friends house to yell at them for their irresponsibility. My BF and mom got into each others faces screaming at one another. Fast forward five years I was away at college when I got really sick and had to transfer to a school in my hometown. I reconnected with some hs friends, one of whom was dating my BFs friend. We started hanging out a lot, and every time we’d go out and get drunk he’d stay over. My friends always said we’d date but I refused to, he asked me out three times before I finally decided I wanted to date him. That was almost two years ago, and we couldn’t be happier.

It always amazes me that I ended up with the person I never thought I would.

Oh how fun to read all the stories out there!

I picked other – mostly because we were both traveling for work and met at a conference in Les Diablerets, Switzerland! of all places! It was definitely fate. He’s everything that I have always wanted… my absolute soulmate.

I had a huge crush on him since freshman year in college.

It wasn’t until we both enrolled in the ultra-romantic Nazi Germany History class senior year that I got the guy.  But there were LOTS of really awkward/uncomfortable moments (almost exclusively on my part) leading up to dating that I wish I could forget. forever.

     ugh….

We met during my freshman year (his junior year) of HS in a tech theatre class. Both of us were dating other people at the time, but we definitely liked each other. We lost touch for almost eight years, but reconnected at the end of my senior year of college via the wonders of facebook. After a flurry of facebook messages, online chatting, and texting, we met up a few times before the summer started. I spent the summer away working at a summer camp but we still emailed, chatted, etc. When I came back, we hung out until about four in the morning.

We were dating for about a week before I moved to DC for school. He came to visit a few times and then moved up about two and a half months after me. :o)

All I can say is, three cheers for facebook. 😀

We met online also. I had tried online dating and was ready to give up, but since I was so far into the communication I said I’d meet one more guy. And what do you know, he was "the one"!

I, too, was surprised to see how many people chose "Online" in the poll.

We’d worked in the same building (on the same floor, our offices no more than 200 ft. apart!) for nearly two years.  In that time, we’d managed to only exhcange the occasional "hi" when passing in the hall.  It wasn’t until I started training for my first marathon that our relationship really took off.  He was training with the same running group, so all of a sudden we had something in common to talk about.  After a month or so of post-run group breakfasts on Saturday mornings, he asked me out to a baseball game.  We’ve been together ever since!

I had to check 4 boxes. We both went to the same college, had a mutual friend (his roomie’s girlfriend was my hallmate), worked at the same place, which happens to be public transportation (driving the bus for UGA). It was the "perfect storm" to meet!
