@chickeybarr – We booked through Jennifer with The Tropical Travelers. She got a us a great deal; I wasn’t able to beat her price anywhere! Also, I did everything through email and she was very accomodating. I definitely recommend her – good luck!

@summerbride12 I’m pretty sure the room upgrades were the biggest difference between cost – we were considering getting the swim-outs but it put us over our budget of $5k so we figured we’d skip it. I’m sure the preferred rooms are beautiful! We’ll probably cross paths while we’re there!

Destination: St. Lucia

Resort: 4 nights at the Sandals Regency (all inclusive), 3 nights at The Ladera (not all inclusive)

What kind of room?  At the Sandals Regency, we chose a ‘luxury beach front walkout room”. That way we are on the first floor, near all the action (and the beach of course!).  At The Ladera, we chose a 1 bedroom suite w. pool.

How many days? 7 nights/8 days

How much will it cost you? $5,600, includes r/t flights and accommodations at both hotels. We figure another 1,500 for excursions and food/drinks at The Ladera

Where are you travelling from? NYC baby!

  • Wedding: August 2010

Destination: St. Lucia

Resort: Ladera

What kind of room? most amazing room ever! it was a duplex, with a small indoor pool, and with 1 wall missing that had the most amazing view of the sea and Piton mountains. we seriously love Ladera so much we’re thinking of going back for future anniversaries

How many days? 5 nights

How much will it cost you? ~$5k altogether. we bought the flights, hotel (including breakfast), and airport transfers on travelocity for about $3300. Ladera has an all-inclusive package you can buy, but we figured it cost less to buy a la carte. meals and excursions booked through Ladera made up the rest of the cost, so we could have spent a lot less (like, we didn’t go to the beach until the last day, which was free, so we could have done that instead of the other excursions that were more expensive).

Where are you travelling from? DC; we flew via Charlotte one way and Miami the other
