Well let me say that me and my fiance were also considering TAHITI, but it was freakin’ way out of our budget. I really wanted to go too, but we had to be reasonable. So we looked around and looked around some more, and we finally chose TURKS AND CAICOS. They have such lavish ocean life- great for snorkeling, which my fiance and I are…so it was a no brainer. Night life in Turks and Caicos is dead, or so I’ve heard, but the sea life is amazing…they have amazing beaches as well..I hope this helps ya decide..best of luck to ya<3

we picked a cruise. we didnt like the idea of spending 1-2 weeks in one place looking at the same thing. In early november the breeze will be incredible on the ship, with still plenty of sun for tanning, and he proposed to me on our last cruise – it was a no brainer to us.

It is definitely nice and breezy in Punta Cana. I’m a New Englander and am super sensitive to heat and humidity. I was only uncomfortable early in the morning. Late morning, midday, and onwards was great!

There are tons of places I wanted to consider but being as money-conscious as I am I picked a budget and stuck to it. I didn’t want to put this trip on a credit card. We couldn’t justify spending a huge amount of money on one vacation. Yes, it’s our honeymoon and a one time thing but that doesn’t mean we should break the bank on it. Aruba was pricing too high so it was between Jamaica and Punta Cana. PC turned out to have the better hotel, flight, and overall package so that’s what we went with. We are doing one week all-inclusive and I hear it’s beautiful there! I’m looking forward to it and I encourage you to check out the deals!

Well, we knew that our honeymoon budget was pretty small, so my husband suggested Hocking Hills (in Ohio). It was close enough that it was affordable and still beautiful and secluded. That’s mainly all we cared about 🙂

well it sounds like both of you like the beach! on the other hand my hubby and i can not stand the heat humidity and sand..so we picked out a cruise to alaska… first off it was amazing! we went in begining of june and we were pretty lucky; sun/ clouds low 60 to low 70… we were not too happy with the carnival cruise line, kinda cheap, but the excursions and alaska were all worth it! we choose a cruise just bc we couldnt afford anything big(our original plan was italy)since we paid ourself for the wedding and we bought a townhouse few months before the wedding, also bc we thought it was the simple and less  stressful thing to do….

We chose Jamaica because I’ve always wanted to honeymoon by the beach. We booked at an AI resort before it opened and got a ridiculously amazing deal!

We’re heading to New Zealand and will be traveling throughout the North Island (hopefully some of the South Island as well), staying at B&Bs along the way.  We’re both pretty outdoorsy people and whilst we enjoy a day or two on the beach, we’re much more into hiking, kayaking, and any other adventure activity!  NZ is a bit pricey but with the conversion rate (the NZ dollar is significantly weaker than the US dollar), it’s not too bad.

We went to Barbados for a week and the Grenadines for a week.
I highly recommend both!  Check out review on TripAdvisor for recommendations on where to stay – we wanted warm, sunny, things to do (but not TONS to do), somewhere we’d never been, somewhere all inclusive and adult-only and we were really happy that we chose to go to those places.  I’m not sure what the weather is like in the summer because we were there in April/May but check them out!

Right now we are looking at Punta Cana. I’ve heard great things about it. We are also thinking about a cruise too.

Ocho Rios Jamaica at an all-adult, couples only resort for a few reasons

1. The price was right (jamaica is cheaper than st. lucia with similiar climate and landscape)

2. It’s romantic. The adults only, all inclusive,  indulgent atmosphere is a turn on…

3. We like to be active and the resorts there offer hiking, scuba, snorkeling, boating, swimming, sports, etc. so we can be as active as we like or as lazy as we like all in a beautiful, warm, sunny setting.

We first chose Jamaica because it was way affordable, but then cancelled it because we didn’t like how far the resort was from the airport, political unrest, and how many people told us NOT to go to Jamaica (I was surprised by how many people didn’t like it).  Then we chose the Bahamas because it was somewhere neither one of us had been, was cheap/easy to fly to, and we got a military discount at one of the resorts.  Now….if I can just get the Army to approve leave….

We chose the Excellence Playa Mujeres because we heard really great things from several of our friends that went there, we could get a really nice room for what we were wanting to spend, it was all inclusive, and it’s a 2 hour direct flight from Houston (we took a 7 am flight and were to the resort by 11 am).
