I thought this would be good to get an idea of where most bees register and maybe give me and others some ideas of where to register. Things like ease of returns, easy registering process, updating registery list accurately once an item is purchased, etc
Be sure to tell us why you loved or hated a particular store

I registered at Target and Crate & Barrel. I love my C&B registry – Target, not so much 🙁 I LOVE Target as a store, but their registry site is cumbersome and annoying. If I was starting over right now, I’d prob do C&B and Bed Bath and Beyond.

Macy’s and Sur la Table …. Macy’s for Fiesta (i collect it!) and bedding (plus, its easy for all guests) and Sur la Table for all my amaing Demeyere cookware and Vitamix! I can not say how great Sur la Table was with setting up the registry … I am impressed. Macys? Well, thats a shitshow (a given) … and they sold my information because now i’m getting phone calls about weddings on Long Island – since we went to Long Island to set it up! Boo!

Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It was easy to register, I could just add everything online after my one trip to the store, and everyone found things easily. =)

Bed Bath and Beyond… They take anything back, even years later… And you can even return items off your gift registry for cash….. So I have been told by the lady who works there…
The selling point for me, is basically the no limit, no time limit return policy. If my new (fairly expensive) sheets don’t feel “just right”, even after a month of use, I can return them for a refund, gift card, or some other item!!

We did Bed, Bath and Beyond, and they were great. We went to the store and a nice guy helped us pick stuff out. We chose BBB because it’s affordable with a lots of options. Their completion program was good, too. (20% your entire purchase, whether you registered for the stuff or not). We only had the one because a) We’ve lived together for years and have tons of stuff, and 2) we wanted to encourage those who wanted to give gifts to give monetary gifts. It worked out well for us.

I registered at Williams & Sonoma for some cooking basics (pots and pans, baking sheets, food processor). I registered for the rest at Are Naturals and Williams & Sonoma, because I wanted to support green/eco-friendly/fair trade products. I’ve had great experiences with all 3 registries!

I would make the poll so you can vote for more than one, since most couples register at more than one store.
My fiance set up our registries at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond online, and we would add something online whenever we thought of it until we had a respectable list at each. Then we went to the stores to see our choices in person, scan, and edit. We just got our first two registry purchases this weekend!

We’re planning on Bed Bath & Beyond and Amazon. If we do a third, it will be Target or Sears. I’ve heard bad things about Target’s returns, so that scares me off that a bit.

@anemonie: The poll is set to vote for more than one option.

We registered at Crate & Barrel and Bed, Bath & Beyond. Both have been great so far. The only difference is with C&B if it is purchased online and mailed to you, the Thank You Manager will tell you who bought what. With BBB, you only know that something was purchased. Really, the only issue is if you are registry stalking and are wondering who sent the gift.
I’ve read a handful of reviews that Target registry isn’t too great.

We registered at three places:
- Bed, Bath and Beyond: really easy to create and update, already got a gift for registering for so much of a certain brand
- Amazon: Again, really easy to set up, amazon really does have everything from A to Z, and lastly they have the universal wish list tool. For things I couldn’t find on amazon, I was able to add it to the registry anyway.
- Honeyfund: We love to travel and wanted to give people a way to feel like they were contributing to our honeymoon.
Good luck!
