We have blocked rooms at two different hotels for our out of town guests. I recently have heard from multiple people that they are treating this like a mini get away and even if they dont live far away they want to get a hotel room for that night. (Which im so happy about! I want people to be excited!)
My question is: Did you stay at the same hotel you blocked rooms off for your guests? Or did you pick a different one? Im not sure I want to be bumping into my inlaws and family members first thing the next day. Is there a rule for this already in place Ijust dont know about?

I’m staying at the same hotel as my reception, so that probably doesn’t help. I’ve hard a lot of family members will be there. Excited to have breakfast with them all.

Our hotel package (our reception was at a hotel) included a honeymoon suite room for us the night of the wedding, so that is where we stayed.
I suppose you can stay wherever you want, maybe in another hotel nearby?
We only ran into my in-laws on the way out of the hotel the next morning, as I was heading to my parents house for a brunch with family and then going to my college alums football game (DH was not going to either due to other stuff going on).

I stayed at the same hotel as my room block. I did look at staying somewhere else that was a bit fancier for just us, but it was really convenient to take the guest shuttle bus back to the hotel that night. It was also fun to be on the shuttle as it was the last one so it was pretty much just our drunk friends. They did come knocking on our door after we skipped any after party type stuff and we did see a couple of my cousins the next morning, but it wasn’t really a big deal. We just said hi and went off to breakfast alone. A lot of couples do breakfast the next day with family, but I think it’s fine to make your own plans if that’s what you want and just give a quick hi, thanks for coming, and bye if you run into anyone.

Thanks everyone! You guys are so quick!
I guess I made this a bigger deal in my mind than it really is 🙂 It would be more convenient to stay at a hotel we have blocked off.

We stayed at the same hotel as everyone else and had breakfast with whoever was down in the lobby at the time. It really wasn’t a big deal and was fun to rehash the night!

We stayed at our appartment. We didn’t live together before and decided to save the money for our honeymoon.

Our venue is at a golf course. We have blocked rooms at a nearby hotel, but we are staying somewhere else that is about 10 minutes away.
