At home, in my shitty apartment, just us, after a dinner of leftover pizza. It was a surprise in the sense I had no idea when, but it’s not like we hadn’t already agreed that was what we wanted.
He didn’t even say anything–just told me he had “another present” for me (he’d been away for about 6 weeks) and gave me the box. I asked him if it was what I thought it was, and he said “Yes, will you marry me?”.
I wouldn’t change a thing. Such fond memories of what was to me, a very personal and intimate moment.

He proposed to me on a dock over the ocean at sunset on our vacation. The spot had a lot of meaning to us and it was so perfect.

He proposed to me on the beach in Mexico, before a candleit private dinner. I have pictures, but I’m not comfortable sharing!

Newport Beach CA. He set up a sign that said “Artificial Sweetener, will you marry me?” With lights shining on it. I knew it was coming, but didn’t know exactly how he would propose :). We were on vacation with my parents. I waited a long time for that moment (6 years) and could not have been happier. Although I was a nervous wreck all weekend because I knew he would be proposing at some point during the vacation!

He proposed to me in a park near our apartment! It was just the two of us and then some people clapped afterwards, which was sweet.

On a bench at the mall where we had our first date. It wasn’t really a surprise since he was recreating the first date, and who does that unless it’s something special? I also knew he was shopping for rings months before because all the ads on his internet browser started showing diamonds, haha!

I can honestly say I don’t know exactly where! He proposed while we were on a cruise, going from Belize to Honduras. This is the “proposal map” I put on our wedding website.

He proposed at Nojoqui Falls (a beautiful 100′ waterfall just north of Santa Barbara). I had hoped that it would happen there because its one of our favorite spots and because we both love being outdoors.
not our actual engagement day, but this is the place:

I never got a proposal actually I had thought that me and SO would never get married (he never wanted to and I didn’t mind really)
We were in our living room and he threw a ring at me and told me to put it on.
Not romantic but a complete surprise.
