I guess Brick and mortar and Internet?? They’re in the diamond district in NYC, but since we’re in LA, the communication was via email.  The jeweller shipped the stones to my DH to view and he was able to make his selection in person. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanksgiving weekend we were out with friends and bar hopping.  As we were walking from one bar on main street to another we passed by a locally owned jewelry store and in the window was the most GORGEOUS ring I’d ever seen.  I stopped to look at it and pulled my now Fiance over to see it.  I said tomorrow when they open we are going to look at this ring.  So the next day we went and I asked to try on the ring.  As soon as it was on my finger I looked at my Fiance and said “This is my ring.”  A few months later he proposed to me with it.

Mine came from a private jeweler that my DH’s pap pap (grand father) used to work for many, many years ago.  Their family has stayed in touch over the years and gets all their jewelry from them. It’s a little unnerving b/c they don’t usually see the final product until it’s finished/delivered but I guess they’ve never really had any issues so it’s worked year after year…. and I love my ring sooooo I guess it was just fine ๐Ÿ™‚

My e-ring is from Diamonds by Lauren (ordered it online, but I think they do have a physical location in NYC.. doesn’t help me much as we’re in western Canada lol).

My wedding band is from Birks (brick and mortar store).

My diamond was courtesy of one of my best friend’s at a third its value. Engagement Ring will be coming from deSignet International in New York, love their reverse cradle rings! My Fiance was going to custom design it himself, but when I showed him the reverse cradle rings on deSignet’s site, he thought they were awesome too. Then he is actually making our wedding rings, as he’s really good at chainmaille jewelry, and he found a pattern that’s flexible but secure, very classy, and will carry a huge amount of sentimental value for us both (not to mention being inexpensive, even with gold & platinum). Can’t wait!!!
