Lol, I have an unusual answer for you…we flew to the middle east where we got a gold souk to make a ring in only 4 days using my own designs!

Just to explain, so I don’t sound completely crazy, FI’s parents were living and working out there when we got engaged. They insisted that we had to go visit as soon as they heard about our engagement and we rushed out there just a couple of weeks after we got engaged. We had an amazing week’s holiday and I was able to meet his parents for the first time, get to know them and also get a really unusual e ring.

I ended up with a very exotic ring which was a mixture of Celtic style (knotwork) & Arabic style (a whole lot of gold and very, very heavy) and of course it has a great story behind it!

Mine was custom made by a private jeweler because I received heirloom diamonds from my husband.

eBay! – We did a ton of research and emailed back and forth regarding quality etc. The seller is a high end jeweller in the USA, and my fiance did well on the exchange rate too! Mine is an 8 carat emerald cut Brazilian Tourmaline with baguette diamonds in platinum. When we went to get it resized the jeweller here had tourmaline rings 1/6th size for 3 times the price we paid and he said he had never seen a tourmaline of that quality before – so i figure we did pretty well!

Now, I don’t have it yet, but I do know it was from an online seller, possibly Etsy

Zales, but I have been incredibly unhappy with their customer service, and I wish I had gone local. I sent it off for resizing and they snapped the shank. Sent it off to be fixed and resized yet again. It was gone for close to 6 weeks and when it returned they had fixed the shank but failed to resize it, again. So now I’m too afraid to send it off again for fear I won’t get it back for another 6 weeks.

Edit: not sure why it looks blue, I’ve found photographing white sapphire isn’t very rewarding ๐Ÿ™
