We are staying at an inn in the “towne” we’re getting married.  It’s very old school, rustic, and cute.  I absolutely love it.

On our wedding night, we just stayed at our apartment, but we splurged on a nice hotel suite for the next night.

Our reception venue is attached to a Hilton, so we will be spending two nights there (since our home is going to have six visitor staying in it!) before leaving for a two day vaca with his out of country cousins and THEN going on our honeymoon.  Phew!

We’re staying at the Holiday Inn next to the venue haha. The night before the wedding we’ll rent three rooms — two adjoining for the ladies of the bridal party + my grandma and aunt (who are OOTers and will also be helping us get ready the next day, so it makes sense), and one single room for me and Fiance to stay in. On the wedding day the guys will get ready in FI’s and my room, and I’ll head down to the girls’ rooms to get ready. After the wedding Fiance and I will go back to the same room that we stayed in the night before.

I guess we’re not very fancy haha. Neither of us particularly see the thrill in spending $200+/night on a swanky hotel, so Holiday Inn works just fine for us.

@tranquility: Stick to your guns and talk to your Fiance about it! It makes total sense to me. See if you can compromise and splurge on a jacuzzi room or some kind of king-bed room at a “budget” hotel, maybe? Fiance and I *might* do that, we’re not sure yet.

we stayed in the hotel in our room block (different floor though). It was a nicer hotel, prob 4 star i guess? although honestly we had so many issues with that hotel that weekend. we ended up getting a lot of mone refunded because so many people in our block had issues. we prob would’ve just stayed at our house but my husband’s family was there.

We ended up staying in a fancy historical hotel that overlooked the downtown of the city I grew up in.  It was really special.  It has been years since I lived there and it was surreal to look down on the streets that I used to hang out on as a teen.  We are normally super thrifty with hotels (and were for the rest of the honeymoon), but it was the perfect end to the perfect day.
