we should probably vacation together. I cOULD actually adjust my thinking and go to a mountainous region in South America if there was lots of local culture. i just am not sure of the cuisine. oh I woild like it, I like food! Haha But I am not familiar with it.
NZ in the Southern part is more temperate, I Thnk, than Scotland but snce Scotland is my most visited country, I am ok if NZ is like that. Culturally, I think of NZ as being more bland than Scotland, but then there are Maoris who lend some interest.

Excluding obvious war zone countries and only considering genuine tourist destinations, I have no desire to travel to anywhere in South America or India.

I have thought about starting this exact thread!
I also have zero desire for a typical cruise, an all inclusive resort or an escorted tour.

I might be the only one but Hawaii doesn’t interest me. I’d rather go to Iceland.

Mine would be a tropical cruise or anywhere tropical for that matter. The idea of being cooped up in a tiny cabin at night terrifies me, and tropical destinations in general just don’t appealed to me for some reason ( with the exception of Hawaii…I’d like to go there someday). I’d much rather go to Europe or even New York City. Heck, I’d honestly rather go camping than on a tropical vacation.

places I’ve never been to and don’t feel like going to:
South America (I know its a big continent)
Dubai or anywhere in the Middle East
There are other places I have been to that are popular that I never want to go to again.

I thought you were talking about Indian restaurants in the US?

Those fucking drop bears. One got my uncle a couple of years back.

I’m really curious; why not Turkey? Have you been and just didn’t enjoy it, or do you just not see the attraction?
My answer- I can’t think of anywhere I wouldn’t travel to. I don’t necessarily desire to go to Arkansas/Missouri/elsewhere in middle America though..most countries I would be totally happy to visit!

Yes. Exactly how I feel! It doesn’t surprise me though that people have said China, India, Africa, etc, because I feel like a lot of Westerners are often afraid of getting out of their comfort zone, and actually don’t know much about these places other than “too crowded, too dirty, too dangerous”. I live in the Bay Area and I feel like it is crowded, dirty (hello, San Francisco), and just as “dangerous”. I frankly don’t understand it!

I’ve never seen so many sweeping generalizations on a single thread.

I wouldn’t go to Iran, Iraq, Syria, or Saudi Arabia. Besides the obvious issues, my mom currently lives in Saudi for work and says it’s quite boring. She didn’t find Dubai very impressive. She did just go on a safari in Kenya and said it was the best trip of her life-and my mom doesn’t say stuff like that.

If you don’t go to MO, you can’t visit St. Louis! It’s a really cool city with some amazing history and culture. The rest of MO (I used to love there), I get.
