So are you suppose to wear your engagement ring during the ceremony before you put on the wedding band during the ceremony (I’m not having mine rings stuck together). Help? I’ve heard no and I’ve heard yes.

I’m going to have my engagement ring on, and Fiance will just slide the wedding band on in front of it. After the ceremony I’ll switch the two so that the wedding band is on the inside where it’s supposed to be. I’ve heard of putting your e-ring on your other hand or middle finger, though, so that the wedding band doesn’t have to be on the wrong side of the e-ring during the ceremony, though I’m not sure I get how that’s better. I’ve also heard of grooms getting confused by the e-ring being on the wrong finger and trying to put the wedding band on that finger, so watch out for that!
Usually the right hand or one of the bridesmaids holds onto it, like on a pinky or something…
I am actually incorporating the e-ring into the ceremony.
After the vows are said our officiant will say something along the lines of:
“The engagement ring is a symbol of promise and intention. Now
the intention is realized and the promise fulfilled. Please place your
engagement ring on “bride’s name” finger over her wedding band to
symbolize that the love that brought you together will always protect
and sustain your marriage.”
I think it is a beautiful way of incorporating the ring into the ceremony!
@ FutureMrsMartin That’s a beautiful idea! I really like it =)
