@TrailMix: My cousin goes there ALL THE TIME.  And Fiance grew up near the Fonda Speedway. (which I believe is a downgrade from Lebanon Valley. HA)

I’m from (my parents live there now) Northern NY (Ogdensburg), when they say like Canada, I say, why yes, if I walk outside in my parents drive-way, I can see Canada and then they look at my like I’m crazy but it’s so true!

Oooh Ooh! I live in Rochester! I grew up more downstate though, like an hour east of Binghamton. I love New York! (like that wasn’t obvious) I get so excited to see people that live near me on here!

I live in RI and was born here but I seem to keep going back to NY.  I wouldn’t be surprised if I ended up there again some day.  I lived in Buffalo for 4 years (and my daughter was born there) before moving back to New England.  Then I lived in Hector, NY in the Finger Lakes.  I am about 10 minutes from Trumansburg and 25 minutes from Ithaca.  I still own the property there and miss it terribly.  I loved that entire area and to be honest it felt more like home than any other place I have lived.  Its nice to see some of the areas mentioned makes me home sick.

There aren’t many from NNY- so I’m going to represent- NORTHER New York ๐Ÿ™‚ Its technically part of Upstate but only because of the already discussed -anything outside of the city is upstate. But really, its a whole different place, all sorts of hicks and everything else Mixed.

LaurenEB- I can relate- I just tell people I’m from ‘right across the border’ and they stand shocked ๐Ÿ™‚

Grew up and getting married in Three Mile Bay, Thousand Islands area ๐Ÿ™‚

@laurathemidwife  you are telling me I grew up in Northern New York (hick country for sure) Plattsburgh is literally at the right uppermost tip of NYS a quick drive to Canada from it.

I had no idea how many “upstaters” there are here!  I’m in Rochester (which is Western NY) but our wedding is in Victor where I grew up.
