So in a display of utter ditzness, I managed to lose the keys to not one, but two cars. I was shifting my car and my parent’s car around in the garage and I guess I walked inside and got distracted by something and threw the keys somewhere. I couldn’t find them and assumed they’d turn up (we have extra keys)…but it’s been a week and still no keys! I have NO IDEA where they are. Obviously, they are in the house or I would not have been able to get into the (a house key was attached to one set). There must be some place I still have to check that I’m not thinking of. What are some random places you’ve found lost items at before?

I found keys on a shelf in my closet once. I must’ve just put them there?

@worldtraveler: I have walked upstairs to my bedroom closet with my keys before and put them on the top shelf when I was looking at clothes. Weird, I know. Also, check pockets of pants/jackets you were wearing. Kitchen drawers are another fave place of mine for keys. And sometimes they are just buried in my purse!

Try these spots:
In pockets of clothes recently worn
Under pillows and blankets of bed (including jackets and bath robes)
In the pantry
In the fridge or freezer
In the dog toy box
In your makeup bag
In the car!
Those are just some spots I have recently found missing items! Good luck!

Inside shoes. Also just hidden really well in my purse.

Oh man… I’ve found them everywhere. I seem to lose them a lot! The most recent ones are the laundry basket, fridge, pantry, kitchen table, pocket, in my hand, in my car, in my purse, in the bathroom.
In the car or my hand seem to be the most common ones, lol.

Right after I moved in with Fiance he least his keys. We searched high and low and finally I got the idea to check his car. They were still in the ignition… He does this a lot and freaks out every time. At least now that I’ve noticed the pattern I always think to check the car before he freaks out too much.

Under the couch. In the silverware drawer in the kitchen. In the car.

Try the laundry basket, the fridge, in dresser drawers.
This morning mine were under the dog. I’ve also found them in his toy bucket (though I suspect I wasn’t the one who put them there!)

I’ve “lost” keys multiple times only to eventually find them in the car ignition. I guess I occasionally remember to turn off the car but forget to take the keys inside with me (the car is in a closed garage).

I already searched the car, the drawers in the kitchen and they dog has never been interested in stealing random objects. But I will try all the other ideas!

In the fridge..
I did this once for some crazy reason (???) and found them there AFTER I climbed thru a window of the detached garage that was locked thinking I left them in there instead of the house somehow. Fun times…
Hope you find them!!

The washing machine (I’m guessing they were in a pocket and I didn’t notice until after they went through the wash)
Inside the refrigerator (those were my dad’s)
in the couch cushions
in the trash (must have fallen off the counter)
