O_O It’s time to make an appointment with your doctor.

It takes a few months to regulate sometimes.  It’s not uncommon to take upwards of 6 months.  If you are worried, you could go get some blood work done.  I’m on day 58 right now after going off the pill in Sept.

@catherinen001:  I went off in the beginning of September and just had a 41 day cycle. I was 2 weeks later than usual. Sorry, I know it’s frustrating!

I went off the pill and my period went up over 36 days, it did eventually become more regular though! Don’t worrry about it too much, even though it sucks

I think if you hit the 6-8 month mark with your cycles not regulating see your doctor. I went off the pill in March and my first couple cycles off it were great, regular etc. After those not so much – went anywhere from about 40-60 days and i’m on day 70(?) maybe now and still haven’t even ovulated yet (I chart so I can see this). I saw my doctor and had some labs done as well as a pelvic/transvaginal ultrasound and it looks like i may have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) which would explain the long cycles. She has since referred me to a specialist who I’ll be seeing in the new year.

It’s worth going to get looked at to rule out any medical issues. Doesn’t mean you won’t get pregnant but they might be able to pin point why your cycles are irregular.

I asked my doctor if she wanted to induce my period as I was already day 60 something when I saw her and she said unless I was uncomfortable, had bloating/cramping/spotting etc that I was fine to just ride it out and let nature take it’s course.

Naturally, I say take a pregnancy test – if that’s negative you will have to just hang tight, or consult your doctor and see if they can help you!

Best of luck – sorry you are experiencing this, it’s super frustrating. πŸ™

@catherinen001:  Great question. I didn’t have ANY other symptoms except some mild acne. No excess hair, not overweight (in fact, underweight), no thinning hair etc. Definietly not textbook.

I got my labs back and my testosterone was higher than “normal” ranges indicate, which is a sign. My LH:FSH levels were about 3:1 which is a potential indicator of PCOS (1:1 is normal, I think mine was 27:9 or something like that – all my results are on the latest Charters of the Hive post if you want to check them out!). The long cycles were what made me wonder for the most part and it wasn’t confirmed or denied by my ultrasound and labs but it is most certainly pointing that way.

If you want to PM me off the board please feel free, I’m happy to answer any questions about my journey so far. πŸ™‚
