So this happened forever ago, but my period was two months late in my senior year of HS because I was so stressed over prom. Happened to my best friend too. So stress can really delay things. Also if you tested after your period was late then those tests are pretty accurate. Less acurrate if you are testing early.

My period was 2 months late becasue I had an ovarian cyst rupture.  I would see a DR.

Back in my early 20s I was under a lot of strees, that with constant moving (I moved about 3 times a year at that point) made my cycle crazy. I was constantly at the doctors. It would last 3 weeks then I would skip an entire month. The doctors said moving stress illness etc can dely the cycle even an entire month.

I’d say take one more test in 4 or 5 days and if it’s negative it’s likely from your being sick. But it wouldn’t hurt to have a doctor check you out.

My pregnancy with my daughter the at home tests were a negative. So I wasn’t concerned with being pregnant. But I kept getting stomach pains and went to the doctor, that’s where they told me I was pregnant but my hormones weren’t increasing. They thought the fetus was dead because the hormone levels weren’t anywhere near where they needed to be.

But despite the 10% chance they gave me, everything was fine and I had a beautiful baby girl. Not to scare you but this is why I’m saying it wouldn’t hurt to see the doctor. But don’t get freaked out periods can be a month or two even late sometimes. Just check with the doctor to make sure there aren’t any serious problems

@Katnisseverdeen:  Did that hurt or did you have no other signs?

Discomfort in my lower abdomen but not enough for me to think I had something wrong

About 5 years ago I was under alot of stress and my period was about 5 weeks late.  I would definitely see a doctor to make sure that everything is okay.

I have also heard of a false negative.  If you think that there is any reason that you can possibly be pregnant you should take another pregnancy test.

Mine came 12 days late once due to a recent death in the family.

Mine was almost a week late this past cycle when I have been like clockwork. And about 5 years ago (when my ex-fiance and I broke up), I completely skipped my period one cycle and then started exactly when I should have the next month. Hormones are weird! Both times I took multiple pregnancy tests that came out negative.

I wouldn’t worry too much — unless you’ve been having lots of unprotected sex or something. Getting sick can throw your cycles way off.  Pneumonia is a doozy of an illness, too, so it wouldn’t be at all surprising to have a really long, crazy cycle.  Even going on a (fun!) vacation last month delayed my ovulation by about a week.  My cycle ended up eight days longer than normal.
