We used u-pack for our cross-country move and I have nothing but fantastic things to say about them. It’s not a full-service mover – you pack and unpack your stuff yourself and they ship your “cube” from point A to point B. I’m weird about other people going through/packing my stuff, and while we didn’t have crazy valuable stuff, there were some sentimental items we didn’t want to lose – you put your own lock on the cube, so very tamper proof.   The cubes got dropped off on time (for loading/unloading), they called 24hrs in advance of drop-off to make sure we were ready, and they even called us halfway through our road trip out to our new home to check in and make sure that we were going to be on time. They took care of all the permits and offered to refer us to packing/unpacking services (I’m cheap, so we hired our friends for pizza and six packs of their favorite beers). I would be PISSED in your situation – is your stuff in the area and they don’t have enough unpackers, or did it get delayed? If your stuff is IN Seattle and they just don’t have unpackers, I’d tell them that they need to hire contractors/an unpacking service/taskrabbit and eat the cost cause they’re outside the contract period.

I feel your pain, moving SUCKS and I swear I’m never going to do it again (but always back off that a year or two later).
