A friend of mine just got engaged and will get married in Pittsburgh in late 2011/summer 2012. No cost limitation, about 200 people. Good food and the ability to have a band are musts. No country clubs – would prefer a city setting. Any venue ideas? I appreciate your suggestions!

@septcabride: The grand hall at the priory or the university club. Good luck to her

@DianaLynn: I second the grand hall. Very beautiful inside, but it has a $15k minimum for food and drink.

@Dianalynn: if cost isn’t an option the omni William Penn is the best.

@septcabride: I second the Omni if cost isnt an option. The caterer is great and so accommodating. The package also includes the cake, bridal suite, wedding night suite, and a free 4 night stay at either their Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, New Hampshire, or Bedford Springs Resorts, if you book soon. Their downtown parking garage is also only $5/day for guests Fri-Sun (instead of typical $15) and you can pay for guest parking ahead of time if you want. So far my wedding planning experience has gone really well with them!

We’re having the ceremony and a lunch for immediate family only at Hartwood Acres Mansion. THEN we’re having a cocktail and dessert party at The Mattress Factory for everyone! 🙂
