Wow, it’s so apparent how much money you save by not getting married in a big city! I’m so impressed by the price of the Opera House in Iowa!

@christina.a.nuckols:  Oh my goodness, I remember visiting that place as a child! How great that you can have receptions there! Although I’m surprised they allow it!

About an hour north of Boston-

$7100 reception venue rental plus about $100/person food, drink, cake. Includes everything- tables, chiavari chairs, linens, dishes, glassware, silverware, catering and bar stuff, day of coordinator- AND those numbers already include tax and gratuities, so one less tip to think about on the big day!

Our venue is close to $3000, not including catering. It’s in center city Philadelphia near Rittenhouse Square in an old colonial house with a garden, so I’m happy with what we ended up paying. There are definitely cheaper options, especially if you’re looking outside of cities! Good luck!

Ours is a cute log house built in the 1780s. The cost for ceremony and reception is $900. We haven’t decided about renting table linens or anything just yet. One of the best things is we don’t have to pay a catering fee!

Our venue is the Maitland Art center. It has gorgous stonework, iron gates and moss covered oak trees. Rental fee for the reception space was $1200 for the whole day and $375 (after discount) for the ceremony space for 4 hours. Another bee had posted her breakdown of her budget wedding with photos at this place and I was so in awe I had to see the space myself.

    $6800 – It includes:

    – Outdoor chapel ceremony space for an hour and a half

    – Indoor ballroom space (with tables, chairs, dance floor, bathrooms, patio, bar space) for 6 hours

    – Plates, cutlery, glasses, linens, napkins, chair covers, etc.

    – 6 hour house bar

    – photobooth for 2 hours

    – cake

    – family style plated dinner with servers

    – event coordinator

    – room for bride/bridesmaids to get ready

    – setup/takedown of decorations

Everything came in a package so I don’t know how much just the reception space is, but I do know that if I wanted just the ceremony space it would have only been $400. Yay for cheaper Friday weddings! lol

Our venue is at the Sugar Grove Carriage House in Oak Grove, KY $1600 with linens, tables and chairs included. That also includes rental for the wedding day and the day before as well as a small barber shop for the men to get ready in and the top floor of their house for the women.
