We’re using Chad from A Taste of Music. His prices are extremely reasonable and he does lighting as well.

$1500 for a 3 day rental at the TZE house, Wellesley College.  It’s a comes-as-is venue that fits maybe 80 people max, but it’s perfect for what we are doing, and so cute.

They really don’t advertise at all, it was just luck that I remembered about the location.  So wanted to give them a shout out!

This is my second wedding and we are doing it all in Quincy at our Church and the Knights of Columbus Hall.

My first wedding was in Boston proper though.  We had the ceremony at the Old State House (which made for some awesome photography on the balcony afterwards), and we had our reception at the wine celler at the Legal Seafoods at Park Place.

I would also recommend looking at the Squantum Yacht Club in Quincy.  We were going to use them but our guest list was too big. It’s a really nice room and has amazing views of the city and water.

@lazy:  Wow I haven’t seen your venue before but the photos look great! You mentioned a 3-day rental, what are you using the rest of the time for? Just set-up or rehearsal as well? I’d love to hear more!

    blisslife:  hello,

I am doing a destination wedding in cancun but when we come back we would like to have another reception for the guests who are unable to travel. We are looking into the revere hotel in Boston. Is there anyway you could give me a ballpark of how expensive it is there ?

We are getting married at Elm Bank Reservation in Welllesley. Ceremony in the Gardens and then they have a historical building onsite for the reception. It’s getting expensive, because there is so much not included (its just the space, no catering etc included)

dfutureNP:  We looked at Elm Bank! We decided on another venue precisely for that reason- it just was the cost of the venue. We looked at the Connors Center in Dover as well. I found some irony in  that there was a mandated police detail for either place- as we are a blue family (and a military family). Elm Bank is beautiful!

Bringing this thread back! Any suggestions for venues for a small party? (5-10 people)

We’re getting married in Newburyport MA! Catholic Church ceremony and then the reception will be at Steeple Hall (historic church that has been converted into a venue). They waived the rental fee of $1,000 for us, but catering will be through them which will be around $15,000 for 100 people. Cannot wait for April to get here!
