Maude,

Excellent question! The knot doesn’t really have a bio-building feature – more of just a place to host one.

If you haven’t found it already, you access your Knot bio area by going to "My Knot" (top header), then "My profile" (left hand index). The bio area is on the lower right. Click on "edit" to, well, edit!

The Knot has very basic editing abilities. If you happen to know HTML code, you can do it all yourself… but if you’re like most of us, you’ll need a bio builder.

STLBioBuilder is a popular option. Their system works, but it’s kind of funky, not very flexible, and is a pain to edit. STL gives you the HTML code to copy and paste into the "edit" area of your Knot bio.

I recommend using Google, because it’s easier to use and more flexible. You can put everything on one page or create an entire site. I created a webpage (pages.google.com) using my knot screenname. Then you put the web address in your Knot bio.

Instead of STLBioBuilder, there is also a popular program knotties used called NVU.  I liked this alot better, but it does take time to make.  If you go onto the Hawaii board on the Knot, ask one of the girls for mrspresley’s link to her bio.  It has step by step information on how to make a bio along with TONS of other great ideas.
