My husband and I love to travel and want to take a vacation before the end of the year, we’re thinking maybe october. I have one week paid vacation left and he has 2. we can take a max of 2 weeks in a row.
Together we have already been to Alaska, Vegas, Mexico 3 times, and Thailand. If we go to new york we have enough air miles to pay for the trip but not the hotel (and of course i would have to buy a “new york item”. Thats something i cant buy here that i can say is “From New York! lol), LA we would have enough to pay for both wich is a sweet bonus. Italy and Greece we would have to take the 2 weeks and i’m not even sure that would be enough time and pretty much all costs would come out of pocket… All inclusive is an option but we like to do different things and this is the last option on our list. What do you think Ladies. What sounds nore appealing?
Our options are…….
1. New York – I want to experiance this city more than anything. I wanna see Ground zero, go shopping and see the MET.
2. Los Angelas – my husband loves the lakers and would love to take him to a game however in October it will only be a preseason game. I would also love to take a tour of celebrity houses and possibly make a stop in disney world
3. Italy or Greece – It speaks for itself
4. All inclusive resort vacation

I’d vote New York this year because it sounds like you are hesitant about the extended time off and the cost assciated with Italy/Greece. I think that would be an awesome trip but sounds like it maybe isn’t the right choice for you right now.
I lived in the LA suburbs for about a year and, personally, I really didn’t like LA so that vacation would hold zero appeal to me.
I really enjoy New York City and DH and I have taken a couple of weekend trips up there and we always enjoy ourselves!

@Mrs.KMM: new york is at the top of our list according to cost and interest. Whay should we do there? How long should we go for?

All inclusive resort, it’s the perfect vacation in my mind. But it’s hard to pass up Italy or Greece!

@Pappy8: I’ve never been up there for more than a long weekend but I guess it totally depends on your preferences. DH and I really enjoy shows so we always try to see something on Broadway while we’re there. We’ve also done all the tourist-y things like seeing the Statue of Liberty, going to ground zero, Time Square, Central Park, etc. There are also tons of museums to check out and more restaurant options than you could ever hope to try.

@Pappy8: I have a strong desire to go to Italy and Greece so I vote there. The all inclusive is somsthing you’ve done already. You know how it works. With NYC, I cant imagine spending a week there. I would tire of it quickly. Ive never been to LA but I can honestly say I’d rather spend the money to go other places first but that’s because other places appeal to me more.

LA is incredibly boring. My family is from Newport Beach in Orange County, and going up to LA for anything is just a horrible experience. I’d much rather stay on the coast or over on Santa Catalina.
I love NYC and go there as much as possible. There’s plenty to do and you could definitely spend a week there, especially if you’ve never been there before. I love going to the Chelsea Market, South Street Seaport, the Museum of Natural History, the East Village, Grand Central Station, Central Park, Strand Books… I also have a few of my best friends who live there, so I always end up hanging out with them. I really hate Midtown, so I can’t give any pointers about there — I usually stay in a hostel in Chelsea so I can be around my favorite neighborhoods without having to spend a bunch of money.
If you’re not sure you can afford Italy and Greece, I wouldn’t even put them in the running. It’s not worth going into debt over a vacation.

I vote for New York, I’m slightly biased though as I got engaged there. Central Park is amazing, I loved it.

I’d go to either Italy OR Greece. 2 weeks for both is rushing it. Going to only one or the other would also save you some money. New York is fun, but expensive and honestly everytime I go I feel like I wasted so much money. I don’t know anyone who has liked going to LA for a vacation.
