I’m going to be brave and DIY my flowers. (with lots of help, of course!)
Any suggestions on where to buy my flowers? I already know I’ll be getting some from Costco/Sams Club but they don’t have a huge selection. I like fiftyflowers.com but I’d like to buy in smaller quantities; some of theirs you have to buy in groups of 100, therefore raising the price!
Any thoughts, opinions, or reviews of online flower purchases would be great! Thanks!

Have you considering ordering in bulk from a florist?
I am the wedding director for a florist, and we have clients who order flowers in bulk, for around the same price as the websites you mentioned. You can order them in smaller quantities too. Some flowers are per stem, others are between 10-25.

You could consider a local farmer for flowers. They often will give you a great deal and it is local and sustainable!

that was my next question…is ordering from a florist going to cost a lot more? If not, I’d like to do that. I just assumed it would be cheaper to order online. Guess I should check that out!

Fiftyflowers.com totally screwed up our flowers. I had luck with samsclub and theflowerexchange.com. We also got a great deal at the last minute (after the fiftyflowers fiasco) from a local vendor.

I would check a few different florists out. Florists order from different distributors, and the distributors set the prices. We don’t upcharge for bulk orders, since all we do is order them for you.
When you get them in, just pick them up, cut the stems at an angle, remove the leaves, etc. below the water line, and put them in water with some food. Pretty easy. PM me if you have any specific questions.
I just book the weddings and do the event coordinating, but I can always ask the designers at the shop 🙂

Thanks ladies…good to hear honest review about fiftyflowers. The whole online thing is scary because it’s not like you can show and actual person your messed up flowers and demand an instant refund!

I would suggest bunchesdirect.com They don’t have unnecessarily large quantities and if you call them they’re extra helpful. I had a great experience with them!

I would honestly go the route of finding a wholesale florist first. There’s only 2 near me and they were all cheaper than fiftyflowers, samsclub, etc etc etc.
And I liked that you can see the flowers you are purchasing.
