I ended up with a bunch of fakes from amazon as well.  This month I am trying ones from target. I live near both cvs and walgreens but the markup here in nyc is ridiculous, so Im hopeful that the frers from target are real ones.

I just bought the 2-packs at the grocery store in the pharmacy section. And I haven’t actually looked at Walmart but they do have them on their .ca website so you could probably order them from the .com site.

I found the pink dye dollar store tests to be as sensitive as my FRER was.

jouissance :  lol, y’know, funny enough even though I bought them in a store I’ve heard so much about fakes recently that I did start worrying how legit they might be… just because I’ve seen such a big difference in prices. I paid $18.99 or so and the walmart.ca ones were a bit less but the two major drug stores here charge around $26.99 and $28.99. Seemed like such a big range, that I really started to wonder if there was somehow a difference in quality/realness.

jouissance :  Target/CVS and Walmart for FRER, and dollar tree/store tests are great too!

ladyvictoria :  yea, totally screwed me over last cycle.  There was even a piece of fabric in the viewing area, between the cover and the testing strip. It was like someone took apart a frer and inserted a different test strip with thick, purple/blue crooked control lines.  Definitely not pink.  For a while I was not sure if last cycle I had false positive due to bad tests (i had a few real frer and wondfos) or if I had a cp. Turns out it was both 🙁 I ordered from target this time around. The last time I bought them in a store the clerk was like -these are so expensive!- and everyone peaked at the register to see what I was buying. Can there be no easy part of this procress?

amazon sells FRER’s directly from Amazon and I haven’t had an issue with those being fake.

In addition to the pharmacy, I’ve gotten my FRERs at the grocery store and Walmart.  I agree with Ladyvk that those directly from Amazon are ok.  The reviews are telling – make sure to read the reviews and it’ll help weed out the fakes (or getting the curved ones despite the photos being the original good ones!)

Kannon :  Oh my goodness! I’m so sorry about your chemical and that you got ripped off! Did you complain and get your money back? That’s totally unacceptable. And I can’t believe the cashier drew attention to the tests like that *facepalm* So far I haven’t had any issues with the online cheapies and it’s been more convenient for me to grab FRERs in store at Target, so I guess I’ll just stick with purchasing them in store.
