The Natural Sapphire Company in NYC is amazing. I definitely recommend their service. My fiance picked out my sapphire there.

Natural Sapphire Company is Awesome. Also if you’re looking for a sapphire you may want to check out Gems by Larry Woods and see if you can locate one of his stones. I have one and its almost as brilliant as a diamond due to the cut. Its fantastic and was a great price!

We bought our sapphire on eBay.  I made sure that the stone was coming with authentication papers and I asked them to upload more pictures of the stone at various angles and made sure they would let us return it if we found it to be fake or just didn’t like it.  We were able to get a wonderful price on a BEAUTIFUL pear-shaped white sappire, at 4.some carats.

I have heard that the natural sapphire company does NOT sell genuine sapphires, but created ones. either way, their prices SUCK. Sorry to anyone who was pleased with their prices, but I have been told by 3 different jewelers and many bees on here that they are (for the most part) a scam company. you can google reviews of them if you want.

Jewlery TV sells loose stones at good prices, jtv.com.  They also have an auction site on ther web site.

It’s really easy to get burned on gem stones on ebay.  Been there, done thst.

@cmitch2814 Yes! We went in to check them out Vishnu was incredibly helpful and we told him our price range, what we were looking for and he brought us a ton of stones. He also worked with us on the payments. They are technically a wholesale distributor and primarily just sell to retailers across the county so the buying experience was fantastic and there was 0 pressure. I really don’t know about a min purchase but definitely call them and ask

I ordered my sapphire from a lady named Nancy Thompson on Etsy. I was pretty wary of the whole idea, but she gave me a 30 day warranty so I could go get the stone checked out by my jeweler.

My jeweler verified that it is a real sapphire, but he didn’t have the equipment to check if it was a lab-created sapphire or a natural sapphire because it had been heat-treated and didn’t have the banding that a natural, untreated sapphire has. Either way, it’s really a lovely sapphire, and I’m very pleased with it. You can see my picture below, and it’s even more fire-y and sparkly in person.

Nancy actually spent a few weeks corresponding with me to help me get the perfect sapphire. Her etsy shop is GemsByNancy.
