Ralph’s (the grocery store) has them right now 12 for $12.99!

Your local grocery chain should definitely carry them, usually in the baking/kitchen appliances area, near the glass pans and bowls =).

I’ve been buying up vintage milk and medicine bottles and the easiest place to get them is ebay…which also means lots of shipping!! I probably should have gone the regular ol’ mason jar route. Oh well!=P

How about a craft store?  Here on the East coast AC Moore and Michaels carry them.  JoAnn Fabrics do too!

I’ve found that you have to wait until canning season is underway to start finding them in more easily accessible places.  It should be soon, though!  Strawberries will be coming within a few weeks in warmer climes.

My roommates and I save up jars from jams and sauces we buy in the stores and use them as drinking glasses. We have so many, that I’ll take some of them for the almost-mister and I. If you’re not picky about size, go grab some extra spaghetti sauce! 🙂

I am also using mason jars and have found them cheap at Value Village (although I am not sure if they have those where you live). But any thrift store would probably have them, plus they are all a little different which I like.

Michael’s sells them too! Plus, you can always use their 40 and 50 percent off coupons which helps with the budget 🙂 They have had tons at Michaels every time I have gone! 🙂 Good luck!

check your local craigslist. I went searching for mason jars, and ended up finding a set of 25, prewired for hanging as candle lanterns, which is exactly what I was planning to do with them! All for $5. Not bad.

I did a lot of research in this last year because I use mason jars with my foodsaver!  The cheapest place I found was Ace, where it’s $10 for 12 jars (pint size) or $11 for 12 jars (quart size) or $10.50 for six 1/2 gallon size.  If your local Ace doesn’t stock them, you can order them online for free shipping to your local Ace store.

I think Walmart charges $18 for 12 quart size ones (at least according to their website)

I’ve been in the same position! Of course whenever you desperately need something- you can never find it!!

I found a ton at a bunch of second hand stores. They had a variety of sizes. I found some great wide mouth ones for about 25 cents a piece b/c they didn’t have lids.

We’re also using canning jars of different sizes and styles.  I just started asking people that I know who can, most of them have so many extra cans that they’re more than happy to unload them on me.  You might want to check out your local senior center or VFW (people that don’t use the internet).

I think I have seen them at Dollar General.
