Hello hive.. my mom is getting married next weekend and is having a crisis!
She ordered these fantastic dye-able shoes to be colored a nice burgundy, but they turned out magenta, and the company says that “that is their burgundy”. Either way, this will not do.
She needs to either reorder the shoes and simply wear them in ivory (close in shade to her dress) tomorrow so they are here in time for her wedding next week, or go out and find a pair of already-burgundy shoes, stat. New York City brides: any stores you would recommend her trying? She would prefer the heel to be 3″ or smaller.

Where does she live? Century 21 always has good shoes on sale and so does Lord and Taylor. Macy’s never lets you down and DSW is everywhere in NYC. Good luck.

Turnaround time in the city is so fast. You could buy a new pair of dyeables (Aldo, DSW) and take them to a tailor with a fabric swatch. Someone will be able to dye them for you same-day.

She lives in Queens.. Macy’s doesn’t have anything that she really fell in love with, but I’ll remind her of DSW and Century21! Any other suggestions are welcome too!

Does she want shoes she can dye or shoes that are burgundy? Ah, I wish Anbar shoes didn’t close. Well, I can’t think of anything else, I don’t shop that much anymore.

DSW in Union Sq. Just an fyi, the DWS in Battery Park just closed. But i second DSW or Macy’s, i think that will give you the most options in 1 place.
If you did express shipping, Zappos online is probably a good option as well, though I’m sure you’d end up paying more than you would otherwise because of shipping.
