I searched Google for “mycity marriage counselor” and found a number of results via Google maps. I called the couple of counseling groups they have in the area, thinking that my chances of finding a good fit would be better with a group. I found a few options that way, and we ended up going with an intern — $80/session (we’re in California) every 1-2 weeks.

My Fiance and I are not in the least bit religious. We actually found a non-denominational minister to marry us. We are meeting with him for pre-marriage counseling ever 2-3 weeks, and it is 0% religious. It’s also free (we’ll give him a donation,) which is awesome. We actually find that he’s a lot more down to earth, and more real.

You can also check out professional organizations, like the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy: http://www.aamft.org/

Hope you find a therapist that really works out!
