My nine year old niece is in between girls and juniors’ sizes (18/20 girls or 0/2 juniors). Our wedding is fairly casual (picnic style) but I’d still like the girls to wear something nice in our colors (navy or pink), but inexpensive. The only dresses I find for a junior bridesmaid have to be custom sized and are upward of $150. Junior size off the rack dresses tend to be too grown up for a 9 year old. Any ideas where I can find something age appropriate, casual yet pretty, and inexpensive? Jeez, just writing that I think I me fighting a losing battle…..

I’d check regular department stores like JC Penney, Sears, Kohls, Target, etc..
I’m assuming it doesn’t have to be an “official” bridesmaid dress – just a pretty dress.

I’m having the hardest time with this too! My 14 y/o JBM is plus sized and I don’t want her to have to spend too much for a dress. I decided she would wear something nice in a color that coordinated with the BMs, but wasn’t too matchy. I ended up finding some nice dresses at Target (of all places!) and Nordstrom. Definitely check dept. stores and keep buying til you find something you both like (then return the rejects of course!)
By The Way, I love this store and they have both pink and navy solid dresses. Plus they customize to measurements: http://www.eshakti.com/Products/solid%20dresses

It’s so hard at dept. stores because she’s still only nine, so she either likes the cinderella dresses or the hoochie type things that I seem to come across more often than not. I didn’t check Target. Have to try there!
On a side note, toshella, while I dont think any of the dresses will work for her, I love a few for me for my honeymoon. I take it you’ve purchased from here and there legit? Thanks for the great site!!
