In place of a bridal belt or actual sash, I want to attach an applique to my dress. I’ve found TONS of sashs and belts online, especially on Etsy, but only 1-2 appliques on Amazon and they are both HUGE.
I did not buy my dress at a salon, it is preowned, and I’ll be using an independent seamstress for alteration, so I feel like I can’t just waltz into a salon, dress in hand, looking for an applique.
This is my dress (Pronovias Alma), and I like this applique – though I’d prefer smaller, and I want the applique right beneath my bust, not at my natural waist:

This is much closer, the placement is perfect, and I like that it’s a smaller:

Where can I purchase something like this?

Try Ebay. There are some beautiful ones there. A fabric or craft store like Jo Ann’s may have them as well.

Etsy. Check in the “supplies” section! I have saved a few from there to make a sash!

Is there a fabric store near you? Preferably something higher end will have beautiful appliques. I bought some trim from shinetrim.com to make a bridal belt for myself and saw they have appliques too.
Edit: I see you live in DC… If you can make a trip up to NYC, the possibilities are endless 🙂

Thank you all for the suggestions!
WOW, the appliques are a LOT less expensive than the completed sashes under supplies on Etsy… I hadn’t thought to look there. Will look at eBay and local fabric stores, too.

there is a store on Etsy called Gloryshouse. They also have a website with rhinestone appliques. I found a dress I am seriously considering by it also needs a smaller belt or something at the bust. All the sashes are too big. I am also considering looking at some of the hairbands as an alternative and sewing it on. Please post if you find a good source
