I’d like to use a vintage looking bible as my ringbearer “pillow” similar to the picture below (minus the moss).
Does anyone know where to find a vintage/used bible that would be good for this? I’m Lutheran but will be married in the Catholic church and will convert after the wedding if that makes a difference as far as bible version.
Any help is greatly appreciated!! 🙂

Ebay maybe? You could also try etsy, but I think it might be more pricey on there.

Flea market!!! You should be able to find one cheap there.

@Puppy Love: Take a stroll to your local thrift store, garage sales are usually rife with them and if all else fails, second hand book stores…bibles can get a little pricey on the book dealer market, the older they get and the more unusal the printing….if all else fails, buy a new one, they’re like…$10 and distress to cover yourself.

Are there any used or antique bookstores in your area? I would start there.

It might be a good idea to ask first to see if there’s one in the family? It strikes me as a bit off to go looking for a vintage Bible that’s basically going to be used as a prop. ETA: It’s a wonderful gesture to use one if it’s truly meaningful, but it seems disrespectful to hunt down a Bible that *isn’t* authentically meaningful, and even more disrespectful to “distress” it to make it look a certain way because the appearance is the most important thing about it.
If you’re using it to carry the rings, your intent is to demonstrate that it’s important and valued, right? So it seems like it should be a genuinely important and valued Bible, not one that you went out and bought for cheap on Craigslist or from a used bookseller, that doesn’t actually mean anything to you.
Chances are, if you ask, someone in your (or FI’s) family will have one.

@KCKnd2: I’m actually in the process of doing that now but will buy one from a random place if need be. I would buy a new bible and use it if it looked like this (our wedding has an antique/vintage theme) but would rather it be from a family member if possible, just not sure it’s going to be.

As far as that goes, I’m using it not because I want it to be “a genuinely important and valued Bible” but because I like the symbolism of it and feel it shows our union will be a Godly and Christ-centered one. Also, EVERY bible is a genuinely important and valued bible to me. It would be impossible for me to get a bible that “doesn’t actually mean anthing to me”.
