@ERnurse: I know oftentimes on bluenile and brilliant earth, you have to buy a center diamond from them, too, but I do think you can find settings on since1910.com that you can both add your own diamond too, and i know they have a lot of variety, surely there is something for a smaller diamond! Heirloom diamonds are exciting! I wish I had one….

Why not just get something custom made? It’s really not much more expensive.

You could take it to a local jeweler, or try some of these online vendors:

DanielM on Etsy

Laurie Sarah Designs on Etsy

Lord of Gem Rings on Ebay (custom fit semi mounts)

Fay Cullen has nice mounts and can go custom, but the reviews are iffy. Gorgeous stuff though.

Also, you should talk to a jeweler, perhaps. I know older stones, the carat weight may be small, but the diameter can be larger than a “modern” diamond, so you might be able to “fit” a .35 diamond into a .45 and higher setting, it depends on the dimensions (as far as I know!). I really like this one, but it has to be .4 carat weight. If you found a setting that was close like they, I would have your stone appraised and talk to the manufacturer of the setting to confirm minimum dimensions.

Ok, hmm, that will narrow it down. In 14K gold? white or yellow? now I’m on a quest.
