There’s a ton of options here and so many cute dresses and most of them are pretty reasonably priced. Good luck!

Usually local wedding dress shoppes around your area are off the rack. Thats where I got mine.

Great suggestions above, but I’d also add JCPenny, The Limited, Cache, White House Black Market…

What are you looking for? Maybe we help you if you provide a color.

And, if you really have a lot of flexibility in style and color, I’d probably try TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross and the like, if you have them nearby.

seriously- try davids bridal.  I know that you stated “non-bridesmaid” dress, but a lot of the ones they have are simply special occasion cocktail dresses

I ended up changing the color of the dresses bc i found something i love! but i’ve decided on http://www.shabbyapple.com/p-1414-alice.aspx

its still not shiny or over the top. it was just easier to find one i love rather than get all the girls to go along with my mismatch choices.

I absolutely love shabby apple! I forgot to add that to the first list, but i had been checking for dresses on their since i started planning but wasnt finding anything that was perfect until that dress came out.
