I got mine on eBay, I’ve ordered two loose stones and a ring. The ring was for my sister, so I don’t have pics but it was like 2ct equiv and ~$30, the loose stones were a couple bucks each. The ring was not well made, my sister likes it but it looks half finished, poor workmanship. Of course, that is just my experience with one seller.

Here is a pic with my loose moissanite compated to my black sapphire three stone and black diamond halo 🙂

@chica95110:  There is supposedly black moissanite on eBay,  but they’re CZ stones. They call them “moissanite diamonds” and don’t specify what they are. They are all large stones and only cost a couple dollars each. They are from China.

Genuine moissanite takes a long time to grow (1-4 weeks), requires large, specialized equipment, and hand cutting. There is no way genuine moissanite is being sold for $2 anywhere. Also, there is a patent on moissanite until 2015, so as of right now, all moissanite is being grown in the US.

So basically they’re selling cz with the title “moissanite diamond” bc they want more people to see their posts and think the stone is more than cubic zirconia.
