I was struggling with this too. I wanted calligraphy but after the save the dates there is no way I am doing that again for our invitations lol. We are just doing clear labels. It blends right in. It is hard to get them printed right on the envelopes.

However I am sure if you went to a Fed Ex Kinkos, or any print shop they could figure it out for you.

I couldn’t find any place that was reasonable so I bought a Silhouette Cameo when it was on sale and I’m doing my own.

klc4417:  Where are you getting your save-the-dates/envelopes from? A lot of places offer envelope addressing as well. Or, you can print on labels – I used fancy shape labels and the same fonts and colours as on the save-the-date. Sorry, I only have a tiny photo but you get the idea.

klc4417:  we just ran ours through our home printer! i messed up maybe 10 envelopes before totally figuring out how to do it, but since we just used black ink and a cursive font, saved lots of $$. You just have to change the microsoft word document size and print size!

What’s your budget for the printing/addressing?

I used my Canon Inkjet printer. I was nervous because the envelopes are a slick, shimmery paper but they turned out great! I googled and found instructions for printing envelopes with the printer we have. I made a spreadsheet with the addresses (name line 1, name line 2, street address, town/province and postal code) and made a mail merge so I didn’t have to type every envelope up Individually. The names are in a fancy cursive font, and the address is in the small caps font that both match our invitations. Our home address is printed in the top left in the small caps font. We didn’t put our names to leave it simple and uncluttered. I had to do a separate layout for my invites that had to travel to the USA.

MsBear:  Those look cool! What are they, where are from if you don’t mind telling me? I could use that for the escort tags which I’ve been dreading using my own hand for!

I actually used clear address labels (Avery 5660, I think) for the addresses, and I printed them out myself.  I also printed out an equal amount of labels for our return address.  No way was I going to handwrite these and I don’t see Save The Dates as something that you have to have printed or have a calligraher do.
