SO and I have finally decided on what to do for my ring! I have a loose round diamond that’s about 1/2 carat that belonged to my great grandmother, and we’re hoping to get it set in a cushion halo setting with a split shank. We’ve been looking around a little, and we’re thinking Shane Co. seems like the best choice. Any advice from bees who have used settings from Shane Co. or anywhere else? Thanks!

I had mine set by a local jeweller who does custom work with platinum. I stopped in the shop to check out some of his custom work and make sure it was good quality.
Most places I called wouldn’t work with platinum directly and I’d have to pay to ship it out for a different jeweller who works with platinum.
If your ring is white gold you shouldn’t have many problems finding a reputable jeweller to set the stone. If it’s platinum or palladium you may have to do more research.

I have no input but I’m replying so I can find this after you get some replies because I’m in the same boat! (just not a split shank)
Looking to set my mother’s original engagement ring stone in a halo that I might someday pass down to a daughter in law 🙂
