Just wondering if any of you purchased wedding insurance, why you did it, and where it was purchased from?
I am having my wedding in winter and am worried about possible weather issues (it has happened in the past in our area). Just trying to decide whether or not it is something I should invest in and if so where to even go to or start.

I work in insurance so I insure everything also – last year Fiance and I were supposed to go to a wedding and we got a phone call the night before telling us that there is no wedding. Long story short the Grooms mom had an anourism (sp?) so they decided to postpone it. They also LOST all of the money they spent (40k) It covers things like that and many many others! sure you won’t get all of your money back but every bit helps

We bought insurance through Wedsafe.com I’m really happy we did. I was worried about anything happening (vendors not showing up, the gardens burning down, etc) and wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to be out my money. Sadly, our limo cancelled on us like 2 weeks before the wedding and refused to refund our money so we could hire another company and they were never planning on telling us, they just weren’t going to show up (thankfully I was confirming all vendors at the time). So we filed a claim with the insurance and they refunded our money and paid the extra expense (another $800) for hiring another limo company. So I would definitely say it was worth it.

We own a house and have pretty good home owners insurance so when I checked in with my insurance broker, he said we were covered. But if you have apartment insurance or even car insurance, depending who you’re with, they may be able to cover it at a lower rate than other options. It’s worth looking into!
