FH and I are getting married right after we graduate from college, before we move in together. We’re getting married in our hometown in Florida, and we want to go on a cruise honeymoon. The cruises don’t set off until about 5 days after our wedding. When we move in together, we don’t know yet where we will be moving to. It might be 2 hours away from our hometown or 20 hours.
My question is, where should we spend those five days waiting to go on our honeymoon? The LAST thing I want to do is stay with either one of our parents right after getting married. Should we just stay in a hotel that whole week? Does anyone else have this same dilemma?

@Ellyson: not exactly the same situation as you, but we are getting married in LA where FI’s parents live, but live aboroad and won’t be going home or on our honeymoon right away. Not wanting to live with parents as newlyweds, we rented a super cute little apartment in an area around where many of our LA friends live. We booked it through airbnb.com, which is an awesome vacation rentals site. We have used it in many of our travels aborad. You can read reviews and talk to the property owners before you book. You can rent a boat or a castle, stay in a cheaper sublet apartment or go all out with a private house all to yourself. all depends on your budget and location. hope this helps!

I was going to suggest airbnb too! I just came back from one of the rental properties I found on the site and it was a great experience!
