Has anyone here been to or had a beach wedding in Orange County? I mean on the sand and everything. Firstly, what beaches do you reccomend? Is there something I should know about having a beach wedding? State permits? Certain companies I should go through?
Thanks for your help.

I was in Laguna and saw a wedding on the beach…there are quite a few websites that tell you about beach weddings. Here’s a website you might want to look at: http://www.beachcalifornia.com/beach-wedding-california.html
Also, check out Las Brisas restaurant in Laguna…there is a beautiful gazebo there for weddings.

There are some beaches that you can get approval for a ceremony, but I don’t think there are any where you can have the reception.
I went to a ceremony on the beach in front of the Surf & Sand Hotel in Laguna, then the reception was at the hotel.
The Montage in Laguna and the Ritz-Carlton or Marriott in Dana point have fantastic ceremony sites that aren’t on the sand, but have beautiful backdrops of the ocean.
The Hyatt in Huntington is gorgeous, but the ceremony site is OK. Has a view of the ocean in the background but you have PCH and the parking lot to look at first.

I also looked all over SoCal for a good right on the sand ceremony spot. The surf and sand Hotel and Resort is a beautiful ceremony site on the sand, but the reception room is toward the back of the hotel and has no view.
Occasions at Laguna Village is right near the water and sand, but has a gazebo.
If money is not an issue, I would suggest the Montage. It’s the most beautiful backdrop ever…! It’s a grassy cliff right above the ocean, and although it’s not feet in the sand, it’s stunning. However, be prepared for the proposal…it’s about 75K minimum for a Saturday and that’s with the bare minimum.
The St. Regis Dana Point also has a gorgeous setting but the cliffs are higher and you are further from the water.
