Fiance and I are going on our honeymoon end of May/beginning of June 2012 as well.  We were debating between a 12 day Italian/Mediterranean cruise or 7 days in Bora Bora, and well Bora Bora won.  Even though it’s super expensive, but I figure, when else can I be frivalous about a vacation?  Probably on our 25th wedding anniversary when our kids would be all grown up haha, and I don’t want to wait that long!

In terms of the Italian/Mediteranean cruise, initially we were considering either Royal Caribbean or Holland America.  I like traveling to multiple locations but I don’t like having to pack and unpack and moving from hotel to hotel.  So I figure, what’s more relaxing for a honeymoon than cruising right?

@Demarca11: Bora Bora for one week stay is about 8K (for the both of us) for a over water bungalow at the Hilton Bora Bora Nui.  And it includes breakfast and dinner daily (since food is supposed to be astronomical there since everything is imported). Including flight from LA to Papeete (tahiti), and flight from Papeete to Bora Bora.  It can certainly cost more or less depending on which resort you choose, and the view of rooms you want (whether a regular on-the-land room or over water bungalows).

Flight from LA to Papeete is 8 hours, I’m told.

I think besides dress shopping, planning the honeymoon is the funnest part of the wedding planning process! 😀

Another Late May honeymooner here!

We really wanted to go to Europe for our Honeymoon. We debated long and hard on whether to cruise the mediterranean or visit by land. In the end, the ease of crusing beat out the authenticity of land travel. Our honeymoon is being thought as a european sampler vacation, where we get to spent a little time in alot of places. In the future we would use this exposure to select places we would like to visit for a longer period of time.

The cruise leaves barcelona on May 29, visiting 8 cities in 5 countries. I’m beyond exited for the honeymoon! Good luck planning your travels.
