I’m not a scrap booker, but I am a sentimental fool, and want to keep all of the little mementos from our big day. Has anyone found a book that you can put pictures in as well as little things like your invitation, hotel room reciepts, the ribbon that went around your bouquet, cards, etc in?
When I was a kid we put stuff like that in the old time picture albums with the sticky pages covered in plastic…..what do you do with them now? (I haven’t seen those pages in a long time) But I’d also like to have them in the same place as the wedding memory book where you write down all of the details of the day like bridesmaids names, song choices, etc…
Every search I do comes up with either plain photo albums, or wedding planners….Is there even a name for what I’m looking for?

Commenting for ideas because all our stuff is in a toaster box (I am completely serious).
I saw online a company that makes books out your cards but the cost was outrageous.

Doesn’t sound like this is what you’re looking for, but I’m going to put some of this stuff in a shadow box. I haven’t figured out what to do with the rest yet! Especially all of our wedding cards!

@Gemstone: +1 Shadow Box!

I used this 12X12 photo album to put all of my candid pics in from the whole planning process and wedding. There are full size pages that you get to put your invites and such on. It turned out really cute and all of the stuff is in one place and protected. I am not a scrapbooker either but this was very easy!!

I did something I saw on pinterest, hole punched all my cards and put them together using binder clips. The pin had 3 holes/clips, but I only had patience for one 🙂

@NavyBride16: Does that book have the sticky pages, or the type that are more like picture pockets?
@LavenderBride24: I saw that too, it looked like a really cute idea!

@Crazyhair: They are picture pockets.

Yey for nostalgia – I am the same way!
I actually bought a Smash Book, as used by Mrs. Dragon http://www.weddingbee.com/2012/08/20/wedding-scrapbook-2/#axzz2WrVKG9X1! I wanted to keep little stuff like the drink coaster from the restaurant we ate at after we got engaged on the beach. It’s for the more “casual” things that I still want to remember. Of course, have I actually put anything together yet…
I also just bought a shadowbox and hope to put other wedding items in there, including my invitation suite, a handcrafted beaded purse made for my wedding, handkerchief, etc etc.
If anyone would like to share their shadowboxes (or other ideas), I would love to see them!

Ditto on the sentimental fool bit. I keep so much stuff… they end up going in shoe boxes which I call memory boxes that i’ve been doing since I was 14, so have a fair few stashed in the attic! I do have a couple of nice boxes that I put everything I had to do with a past bf who died into them. But I like the idea of one of those old photo albums with the sticky pages to put my wedding bits in. I am wondering if we still do them here in the UK.
More money…….! 🙂

@LaughLines: YES! THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I NEED!!! I love this. I have never heard of a smash book before, but that is exactly what I had in mind! I love it.
It looks like there are places such as Target and Michaels who sell wedding smash books too.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so excited to put this together now!

@Crazyhair: You’re welcome! Hmm, I may have to look for a more wedding-appropriate smash book than mine – it’s a little goofy, but so is some of the stuff I want to save! Have fun working on yours!!
