The way your parents havit it suggested, it doesn’t flow very well. Can you maybe put it into the program somewhere?

Is it common in places where your OOT guests are from where you could just leave it out all together?

@BetterSherm:  Wow, yeah! That would be difficult to know.

I was refering to the program for the ceremony. We were going to put on ours (they never got done in time) information for the reception to follow so that could be somewhere to put it.

For me, knowing that it is a cash bar ahead of time allows me to actually bring cash. I don’t usually bring any substantial cash with me to attend weddings, just enough for a tip for the bartender and valet attendant so having it on the program wouldn’t help me.

I think you can just write: Hors d’ouevers reception to follow. Cash Bar available.

Not really sure what the rest of your invite says. But I would keep it short and to the point since the location of the reception is probably listed elsewhere on the invite.

@yellowshoe:  I like the way you put it. I wasn’t creative to come up with anything else!

I agree with the previous poster- just something short and to the point. I never carry cash with me- so I would appreciate being told a head of time!

Do you have an FAQ card as part of your invites? I’d put it there along with accommodation, maps, dress code, whatever else you so choose.

“Reception will follow with heavy hors d’oeuvres, refreshments (cash bar), cake, dancing, and good times in [insert reception venue room].”

(something to that effect)

I would put it on the reception info card. .

@NewfieBullet:  I would hardly call what I wrote creative. hahaha. but thanks 🙂 I just know there’s already a lot of information on a wedding invitation and I personally just skim through it to get the key points. Like who, what, when, where.

Heavy hors d’oeuvres sounds funny to me…like they will weigh a lot.

I wouldn’t put it on the invitation itself. I would put it on a seperate information card. If you are having information regarding hotels, and directions I would put it on that card.

ETA- Oops, I just read tht you aren’t having a seperate information card. What about adding a little bit of information on the back of the invitation. On the front just put your names, the place and time. On the back you can put the directions, dress code, and the part about the bar.

Reception card…but I would suggest (off topic) to maybe offer a complimentary specialty drink per person? Just as a thank you?
