@Little_Hedgy:  But you’re not dropping 300 bucks if you return the stone. You’re dropping like 2.5% of 300 bucks, or $7.50. At least that’s the price if you order through moissyco because they have a great return policy with a low restocking fee, and I think they have NO restocking fee if you only order one stone (but double check that). In which case you’re out $0.00.

 

 

 

Some big stores do carry moissy, it just depends where you are in the country. In NC there is a big chain of mall jewelry stores that stock moissy. Otherwise many small independent jewelers carry it. You can try searching google maps for “moissanite” and see what stores pop up in your area. 

 

 

 

But the problem with seeing it in a store is that it might be really old stock. The stone has improved over the years, so if you’re looking at a stone from 10 or 15 years ago it might not look like what you’d get today from moissyco. I got an Amora, and I had it set by a local jeweler who also sells moissy, but the jeweler said she had never seen such a beautiful moissanite — mine was far and away better than what they sold in their own shop.
