I second all of the above suggestions, but I would recommend going to try on rings of different styles BEFORE shopping online. You never know quite what a ring will look like on your hand until you try it on. Then you’ll have an idea of what you want before you get overwhelmed by the options online. Also, diamond sizes will look different on different fingers, so it’s best to know if the size you THOUGHT would be perfect will look bad with your fingers.

DH bought our diamond from Blue Nile as a loose stone..So after you figure out what cut you like, this is the best as far as what you get for your dollar.
We then went in person to select settings. 🙂
In my experience, I would only go to pricescope to get ideas and design/styles you like.

Robins brothers… online is good but if you can make it to one, its awesome and they really do have something for every budget! I loved my experience there… (my fiance purposed with the diamond alone and we went together to pick out the ring)

for a ton of inspiration/photos check out the show me the ring forum on pricescope! and more specifically –
also, some online vedors such as whiteflash allow for in person visits. you may want to do a search on pricescope for vendors in your area.
