You should start taking a prenatal now. One of the most important things at an older age to prevent miscarriage is folic acid. It’s said that a woman over 30 should be introducing more folic acid into her body for a year or so before being pregnant.

@Sn2bMrs.B: Hi there!  I’m 40 and I’m on my last pill pack currently and my Darling Husband and I will be TTC next year.  One thing that the Bees recommended to me was to purchase the book titled, “Taking Charge of Your Fertility”.  I’ve only read a few chapters so far and it has been really helpful (I found it for $14 on eBay).  I, too, am going to my annual exam in a couple of weeks and will be sure to add any other helpful information at a later date.  Good Luck!!!

@melisslp: HOLY, not to threadjack at all, but you do NOT look 40, girl!  Wowzers!

@Sn2bMrs.B: I second the taking pre-natal vitamins.  It’s good that you’re already working out and that you plan to talk to your dr!

@mwitter80: OMG!!!  You made my heart sing!  SmileSmileSmile  I can only hope that my body thinks I’m 33 since we’ll be trying to conceive for the first time when I turn 41.  Thanks again, dear!!

I believe you should start with the “bow chicka bow wow.” I believe that is the scientific term. ๐Ÿ™‚

Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a great book! I learned a lot about myself and my cycles reading it.  We are not currently TTC, but I do feel much more prepared for the future having read it.
