We have been gifted an incredible wedding gift (early) that we can have 1 week hotel anywhere in the world. Fiance aunt owns some condo timeshares that she can trade for weeks anywhere her condo company has other condos. We looked and the list of hotels are endless! Its incredibly generous of her since it cost around $700 in fees plus she looses rental income because she loses a week at the two condos she owns.

We live in Canada. We will likely have the oppourutinity to travel again, but it would most likely be with our two kids (19 months and 7 years). Travel would be in peek time-End of July/Start of August (if we use after our wedding).unless we go at xmas time. I only get peak vacation time off.
We considered New York since we love fine dining, hotels are expensive and we love theater ect. Fiance has been there before we met. Also considered Paris, since its ultra romantic. I feel a little weird though being oceans away from my kids even though it doesnt really matter…I mean there still a plane ride away! We thought about London but were Ive been there and my Fiance has family there so we are definatly going there with the kids sometimes. We also thought about going to Hawaii over xmas with the kids and pay for our own honeymoon somewhere else.

What would you do? Where would you go? Any ideas, suggestion or thoughts welcome!

Any other thoughts or ideas?

I’d be in Spain or Greece. I studies abroad in Barca, and Athens looks beautiful!

The Maldives. Because we would never be able to afford the flights AND hotel expenses.

I agree with PP. Maldives. Hands down!

Bora Bora, Maldives, Tokyo, Fiji, Bali. I would go to Greece as well. I went on a cruise there and it was outstanding.

I’d go to England. I’ve wanted to go since I was probably 5.

I’d go to Paris or Rome.
Don’t really care for tropical places since I grew up in one.

oneofthesethings: TheMrsTulip: Maldives are stunning! Based on their human rights issues I dont think I will ever go there though but I can definently see why some people would want to vacation there!
allyfally: England was my first choice but since Ive been there and Fiance has family there I think we will go again with the kids. If you ever get the chance go! The building are amazing! I love historical travel so europe fits the bill!
xstitchbride425: OmbreBee: Greece was on our Radar! My Fiance wanted Tokyo and thought about Bali too.

England- Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.

my advise would be to go somwhere you have always wanted to go but would never actually do it because it is too expensive. She is covering your hotel, so you can justify an expensive flight, food, etc.
I am not a big traveler, so I would probaby do NY like you said or maybe Hawaii.

I’d do bora bora if it were me, but that’s where we are doing our weddingmoon because it’s a once in a lifetime trip. But if I were you, I love the idea of Hawaii. Hawaii is definitely my favorite place I’ve been. A close second would be South Africa!! Both are amazing!

We’re likely doing Hawaii but in your case, I would go for someplace more rare and far away that you wouldn’t get to visit again, like Bali or Greece. My fiancé would love to go to Ireland. Kind of depends whether you want something tropical or more touristy.
