Surprisingly, JCPenny. It fit him like a glove right off the rack (crazy because he’s 6’5!). It was the perfect color navy and had ornate gold buttons. We werent looking for it, just saw it while passing by and it was the one for him! Paid about $150 for everything. Crazy
I’m not sure your definition of “perfect”, but we found one that looked nice, fit him well and needed minimal alterating at burlington coat factory. The suit & pants cost us about $150, and the tuxedo shirt and vest were bought separately for about $25 each. The jacket fit great, but the pants needed a slight hem.
Here is a shot of him & his mom taking during portraits [we actually got our photographer in it, too!] :
Men’s Warehouse! I wanted him in a navy blue three-piece suit and MW was the only place that we could find that, and they did the tailoring for us as well (that was extra of course, but it all was affordable). The suit was buy one get one free!
My husband bought his wedding suit from a Harry Rosen outlet. Harry Rosen is a Canadian luxury clothing retailer for men. I was so happy for my husband because he bought the suit for only $500. Normally those suits cost over $1,000. My husband is 6’2, so sometimes he has a hard time finding suits which fit well.
My husband had his tux custom made through Harry Rosen. So obviously it was perfect because it was made for him!
As for suits, his go-to brand is Hugo Boss. They’re fair priced and great quality, he wears a suit every day to work and his Boss suits hold up very well to everyday wear.
So, my vote for a perfect suit is Hugo Boss. Perfect tux, I’d vote for something custom made, Hugo Boss, or Armani.
Macy’s – Tommy Hilfiger Tan Sharkskin Trim-Fit Suit Separates. They had an amazing sale so we paid less than $200 for the jacket and the pants.
Burlington coat factory. CK suit with shoes and shirt was less than $150.
Gant! A small retailer I think with maybe 6 stores nationwide? We liked a pair of pants we saw a man wearing on the street, asked him where he got them and he said Gant. He works there so we followed him right into the store! A total fluke and now we’re set for the wedding and rehearsal suits!
He wears a suit to work. They’re usually Calvin Klein. Nothing fits him as well as they do.
He’s wearing a CK tux for the wedding. He’s a big guy. 6’1, rugby player. And man! Can he wear a suit!
Lord and Taylor. They also hemmed the pants in about 5 minutes!
Bespoke, from a local tailor with a good reputation. We decided it made much more sense to spend on a good suit which he could wear for the rest of his life than on a one-day-only white dress.
My husband has long hair, and a well-fitted suit makes the difference between him looking like a rock star and looking like the defendant
