We were at the pub. I was quite drunk after multiple shots of tequila but still coherent enough to say no to him buying me drink. He is attractive, but my moral compass didn’t want a stranger that didn’t know me to buy me a drink! He must have asked about four times before he won as he gave the smoothest line ever of “how about I get to know you over a drink”.

Five and an almost half years later, we will be married in August πŸ™‚

I met my fiancé in 1999, when we were 15. We met on the Warped Tour message boards, haha. We bonded over shared music tastes and Jack Handey’s Deep Thoughts. We lived pretty close to each other, just over half an hour apart, but didn’t actually meet until we were about 19 at a Casualties show. We definitely had feelings for each other over the years and went on a couple dates but it didn’t stick (due to other relationships or distance when he moved away or whatever) until 2012, and we’ve been together since then. Finally!

I met my Fiance after a poetry reading in the Seamus Heaney Centre. He was studying with some friends so we kept bumping into each other until finally we got together and we’re getting married this August almost 10 years after we met. I had rather a lot of free wine the night we met so I don’t really remember what I said to him all night, but he walked me home afterwards πŸ™‚

My SO was friends with my brother for years, but apparently my brother sucks at hooking a girl up because my sweetie didn’t even know I existed until almost a year ago!

My brother invited my (then future) SO to eat lunch with us and some other friends and we only had eyes for each other the entire time. Out of pure happenstance we ran into each other again later that day at the local coffee shop and ended up talking for hours. We were instantly comfortable around each other and talked like we knew each other for years.

He was shy, and I was still learning how to date after my broken engagement, so we took things pretty slow and went out casually as friends for a while. Then New Year’s Eve we snuggled up on my couch and at midnight he asked if he could kiss me. (:

We haven’t been together very long, but I’ve got a wonderful feeling about this one.

I met my guy through a mutual friend. They were attending the same trade school and both had a shared interest in tabletop RPGs (games like Dungeons and Dragons), so my now-fiance came over my friend’s house quite a bit to hang out.

He and I had only spoken a few times and figured he wouldn’t have wanted to be better friends since I’m personally not into those games and I wasn’t around a lot anyway because of work. I also didn’t notice him THAT way because he always wore a hat that covered his face and clothes that didn’t show his figure too well. I had quit the job that consumed most of my time around the same time that he changed his sense of style a bit and I started to see how attractive he really was.

One night we just started talking about anything and everything, mostly Japanese monster movies. It was our first real conversation and we clicked instantly. Around this time too I also learned that he was horribly depressed because of his father’s recent death and he was starting to lose hope for having a happy life. I took it upon myself to spend as much time with him as I could to make sure he was okay and our love basically grew from there.

I don’t know if you all know of a thing called SANTACON?? they take place in December all over the world where thousands of Santas and their helpers descend on the city from different ppoints having been given a route the night prior to turn up at. Well I had heard about it for the first time that year from an ex guy I had dated a couple of months and who didn’t want a serious relationship and so ended it a month prior to this. I decided I would go and roped some fried me Into it as I live ALL things dress up.

so day arrives and two were ill another thought it too cold and so it was down to just me and one and I insisted we go so I put on a sexy Santa l up tutu and went out on a pub crawl meeting Santas and reindeers and dodging sprouts being thrown and singing carols and doing the limbo in the streets and following anyone with a soundsystem!

the day draws to an end and although tired myself and my friend head to the after party I luckily had bought advanced ticket for as it was now sold out. I danced I had a luagh and then couldn’t find my friend, went to find her and see her taking someone stuck in their elf suit out of it… All I see next is a tumble of long gorgeous hair and this cute elf looking at me . My Freind is engrossed in chatting up his mate and so I turn to the elf and we talk and as we talk I realise we have been taking for ages and think I really need to sit down but if I do this will stop but I ask him if he wants to sit .. He does and sitting turns into kissing. He asked me as he is from out of town “will you take me home” in this little boys voice and I look at him and think – you know what he doesn’t LOok like an axe murdere so I say ok, we walk and talk get to mine and talk all night (honestly lol) and then I say you can be a bit of fun theres an 7 year age gap and I’m looking for kids and marriage soon as I’m 34. He said he could be serious and I said no let’s just have fun the age gap is too big.

well the next weekend we met for our first official date and with him he brought a list of reasons why this age gap was no Great Barrier Reef…. We then saw each other every weekend which turned into 3 times a week and 8 months later he m towns, got a new job and moved in with me…. 1 yr later he visited Africa for the first time in his life to meet some of my family and when thy teased him as to his intentions he said “I’m going to marry her”, 1 year 4 months later we were engaged and next month we marry with the wedding toppers on our cake being an elf and a Santa in a tutu – carved figures by his grandad and little outfits made by his mum. Who would have guessed where a random fancy dress event would lead when I had lost all faith in meeting that man in the moon and who would have thought a man his age would be so wise beyond his years. Since then we have been to Santacon together and maybe one year will take a toddler with us πŸ˜‰

I was 15 and he was 18, he was a cashier at Rite-Aid. I went in every time I saw that he was working and bought gummy worms. A few weeks later on his day off he happened to be in the store. I didn’t see him but as I was getting in my car he pulled up and asked for my number! 7 years later and still in love as ever!

My now husband became friends with my older brother back in 2008. We knew of eachother but I honestly never paid much attention to him since I barely hung out with his friends anyway. Plus I was always in some sort of long serious relationship. In August 2013 my brother asked if I wanted to go to a fantasy football draft party with his friends and I was bored and decided to go. He was there and we were both single. We started talking and we just clicked instantly… I feel like we’ve been so inseparable since that party.. now we’re married! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

We met at work. My first real boyfriend was a super jerk eand when we broke up I began to casually date people to figure out what kind of person I wanted to be with. My fiancé and I had started going on dates when we first met but I basically “friendzoned” him for an entire year! I mean this guy was seriously starting to be one of my best friends and he had already met my parents and I’d met his brother And we had gotten to know each other so well. One day we went on a great date and he kissed me and 2 years later,  at that same place, he proposed to me! Fast forward almost 2 years and here we are a few months away from getting married!
